Dr. Kahlil A. Shillingford has dedicated his practice to helping a growing list of patients who battle weight problems and obesity. He is devoted to providing state of the art care, using the most technically advanced methods and procedures to assist patients with their weight loss goals and to achieve better health and a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Shillingford is known as a compassionate physician, who shares empathy and concern for the comfort and well-being of his patients and their families.

Dr. Shillingford graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. He obtained his residency in general surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This was followed by a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and obesity surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida.

In addition to general surgery, Dr. Shillingford specializes in laparoscopic, bariatric and obesity surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery. He has operating privileges at West Boca Medical Center, Coral Springs Medical Center, Northwest Medical Center in Margate and North Broward Medical Center.

Dr Shillingford is also a board certified general surgeon and performs many procedures including hernia repairs (umbilical, ventral and inguinal), laparoscopic cholecystectomies (gallbladder removal), appendectomies, bowel resections and breast procedures.
